Student Success Statement
“I trust that my hard work will pay off.”
Tyler Haws
Reflection:

This statement is inspirational; and accurate. Only when you work hard for something will is be easy and you will become great at it. By working hard you are devoting yourself to become good at what you choose and making it your main goal. If you work hard in the present you will will grateful in the future. If you work hard on anything you set your mind to then you will easily succeed. Thi statement inspires me to work hard on my goals and succeed. If you do your best on any area then it will pay off in the future. An example could be if you want to get better at your cursive then you should practice it everyday and you will see improvement. Another example can be if you want to join a team but you aren’t good at it, them just practice everyday and you will be more than good enough at that sport. Lastly an example can be if you want to receive straight A’s, you can get them but the key is working hard towards them.

“True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.”
Brigham Young
Reflection
This quote informs us that we can only be free when we do what is right. If you choose to do what is wrong then you are confined and punished. By doing what is wrong your choices become limited and you are punished. However when you do what is right you are free to do as you please without anyone holding you back. If you are truly free them you can be trusted by the people around you and won’t be questioned about anything you choose to do. An example of being truly free is being able to go out with your friends and have fun. Another example of being truly free is staying out late without getting punished. The reason why you are able to do these things is because you can be trusted by your guardian without question. An example of choosing the wrong is staying after school serving detention. Another example of being confined is having your phone confiscated.  Here the reason why you are suffering is because you choose to make the wrong decision and are being punished. We should always remember that for every action we make there is a consequence whether good or bad. The choice is yours, whether you want to be free or if you want to be confined.

Student Success Statement
“They’re only truly great who are truly good.”
George Chapman
Reflection:

This quote shows us that in order to be a great person you must be good. If you are amazing or if you excel in an area you cannot be great if you have behavior problem or if you CTW. Without being good greatness can not exist. In order to be great you must first be good and then greatness will come along. Even though you might not be great in every area you will still be great if you have a good heart. An example of this statement is if you are the best player on the basketball team but you do drugs and skip class, you cannot be great become you were not good. Another example is if you are an A student but you disobey the rules, there is not greatness there either. If you are good then no one should influence you to be bad. Additionally if you are not considered great it won’t matter because being good is its own reward. By being good you receive great opportunities that will help you in the long run instead of the short run.

Student Success Statement
“Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn't. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don’t do it.”
George Mitchell
Reflection:
Even though this quote is directed towards sports it can be used as a reference in everyday life. This quote is telling us that if you cheat it will not be worth the guilt that you will carry as weights on your back for the rest of your life. No matter how bad you want the victory right now it will not be worth the guilt you will feel in the future. At the end of the day you want to be able to say whatever victory you accomplished was done out of your strengths and you didn't need to cheat to accomplish it. By cheating not only do you lose self respect but you also lose respect from others. For example if you really want to get a good grade a test so you cheat to do it, the guilt will eat you and make you confess to what you did. Another example would be if you want to win a sport game but you use steroids to do it then you fans will not longer adore in you or much less believe that you are capable of winning by your own strengths. Cheating is never the answer as all it brings is consequences. Cheating causes all the accomplishments you achieved yourself seem as though you cheated on them as well. So if you ever decide to cheat ask yourself ‘Is it really worth it?’.

Student Success Statement
“I won’t cheat.”
Dale Murphy
Reflection:
This quote basically shows us that if you make the decision to cheat all you will receive are repercussions. It doesn’t matter if the consequences come early or late they will come and will not be nice. Any decision that includes cheating is bad. In the end it is going to be your choice which decision you will take. Whatever come out of that decision will be no one’s  fault but yours, For example if you decide that cheating on a test is the only way to succeed in that area and decide to cheat, the consequence of failing will only go to you. Another example would be if you decide to be a thief and steal then you are the only one that is going to be in trouble. Lastly an example would be if you decide to plagiarize something then the one that will be sued is going to be you and only you. For every action you complete ,whether good or bad, there is always a consequence. Taking shortcuts to anything is never the right thing to do, no matter if it is the last choice you can make. By completing a shortcut you are throwing out all the good in you life and bringing in the bag. Once you do something bad you can never take take it back no matter how much you want to. No matter how much pressure or how much you want to prove yourself to anyone , cheating is never the answer. Once you cheat and people find out you are now branded as a bad person and everything good you did no longer matters. Cheating is unfair to everyone who is completing things honestly is not fair, Cheaters are never winners compared to people who do not cheat and are honest. Once you cheat you regret it for the rest of your life and feel guilty.

St. Patrick’s Day
Who was St. Patrick?
Saint Patrick was a Christian that was born around 460 A.D. He was born to a wealthy and religious family in Britain. However when he was 16 he was taken as prison by Irish raiders who were raiding his family’s estate. He spent the next 6 years of his life in captivity where he live in Ireland working as  a Shepherd and anywhere outdoors where he can be away from people. Patrick was alone and afraid so he became a devoted Christian for guidance and comfort. After 6 years he heard a voice in his head, God, while sleeping telling him it was time to leave Ireland. He walked 200 hundred miles and yet again heard a voice in his head, an angel this time, telling him to go back to Ireland and become a mission. So he did and little by little he started becoming Irish.
What is the purpose of St. Patrick's day?
St. Patrick’s Day is not only celebrated for the death of St. Patrick also to celebrate the Irish culture.
Why is St. Patrick’s Day designated when it is?
As I said before we celebrate St. Patrick's day to commemorate the death of St. Patrick. It celebrated of Friday, March 17.
Why a certain color on St. Patrick’s Day?
We wear  green to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. Also because Ireland Is known as the “Emerald State” for the plants. In addition we wear green because it is one of the colors in the Irish flag.

Student Success Statement
“Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds all.”
Benjamin Franklin
Reflection:
Mr.Franklin has spoken words of wisdom. By this statement he shows us that we can have everything we would every want in life but without a good heart there is no point in having any in having any of that. If you do not have a good heart people will view you as evil and would not want to hang around you no matter who you are and what you have. On the other hand you can be the poorest or be the weakest but if you have a good heart people will want to be around you and will want to help you in any way you would need. For example if you are the best player on the team but have a rotten heart then people will not want to be around you. Another example is if you are the wealthiest person in school and are mean to everyone. If you are mean to everyone people will not want to be friends with you or be around you in general, and if they do then they are just using you for your money. On the other hand if you are poor and can not afford much but have a great heart people will love to be around you and want to help you with anything you might need. In addition if you are quiet and prefer to be inside reading a book all day and are a by yourself in school. It will not matter because one day you will find at least one friend that enjoys all the same things you do. If you are nice and give out respect to everyone people will be nice back and give you the same respect. However if you are rude and mean to everyone then they will do the same to you. You receive what you give. The idea of this statement is that you recieve what you get.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today,”
James Freeman Clarke
Reflection:
This is an excellent statement because it shows us that what we do will affect us for the rest of our lives and above. If we commit a wrong action today we will be ruined for all eternity and be miserable. However if we do a right action then we will be rewarded and be happy. The choice is up to you. In the end no one can force you to do anything you would not like to do. This statement also shows us that we really need to think before doing anything. An example of this is if you decide to go to a party and only convinced on only having one drink. After giving in to the first drink you are lowering your senses and are more likely to get drunk and commit a DUI. If you are not careful you maybe even can commit murder and have a miserable time in jail wishing you never gave in to the first drink. However if you commit a good deed like staying home and studying. By staying home and studying you are building a great future for yourself and life a happy life.

Ophthalmologist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ophthalmologist focus on diseases or illnesses that affect the eye. They are the only doctors that can perform surgery on the eye. The Ophthalmologist can also  examine and prescribe patients with glasses and contact lenses. However in order to become an Ophthalmologist you must have strong physics and math skills.
Salary:
$300,000(Male) and $256,000(Female)
Education:
In order to become an Ophthalmologist you must first graduate high school Then after you must graduate college with a Bachelor’s Degree. Second you must complete 4 years of Medical School. After that you must complete 3-8 years of internship and residency. Lastly you must get licensed.
Need for this Profession:
Personally I would say the demand for the Ophthalmologist is high because most people require glasses. An ophthalmologist can help everyone and anyone who needs help with seeing.
If you have a problem seeing or have a disease that affects your eye then you can head to an Ophthalmologist. As our population keeps growing more and more people will need more glasses.

]
Summary:
Being an Ophthalmologist is something I definitely do not want to do. My main reason is because it is unfair that men get paid more even though women do the exact same work. No matter how much work a Women tries to do they will never be treated equal. By doing this they are being unfair to women who have to work hard to get where they are. If I become an Ophthalmologist it will go against everything I stand for. I would not last a day working in that job.

“The best way to predict your future us is to create it.”
Charles Ketterer
Reflection:

This reflection has had a big impact on me. After reading this statement I saw that a dream isn’t just part of your imagination, it is a blueprint to your future. By dreaming about what you want in the future you are making a plan on how to pursue and obtain it. Without dreams you have no idea where your future is going and will have a life that you never wanted. In order to predict your future you do not need a palm reader or a fortune teller, you need to have dreams and goals. As you create your future you have to make a plan on how you are going to achieve it. If you want and crave something in life do not just dream about it, make it your reality. By making it your reality you are bringing yourself to a great life. Not only is it a great life but a life that can make you happy. An example of this is wanting to graduate high school as Valedictorian, you can make this your reality working hard to get there. Another example is if you want to become a famous soccer player. You can make this your future by practicing and working hard for it. In order to make something your reality all you need is a dream and to work hard for it.

Demand for this profession:
The demand for this profession has increased by 15% over years.  Even though the increase was small it was still an increase which means there is a growing demand.
Summary:

This is a profession I would like to pursue. A reason why I would like to pursue this profession is because they still get to be part of the surgery but do not have the same amount of pressure By agreeing to pursue this career I can still help save people’s life. By doing this I can have a positive impact on people’s life. .

“Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly.”
Otto Graham, Jt
Reflection:
When you come to a point in your life when you have to make a decision in your life about what you have to do how will you decide? Here Mr.Otto Graham has told us the answer as to what we have to do. Mr.Graham told us that we have to ask ourselves what is right and what is wrong and act accordingly. This means that we have to choose on what is the right thing to do and what is wrong. After you have decided which is which you must choose what is best for you and no one else. The decision you make shouldn’t be influenced by your friends or even your family members, it should be decided by you and you only. By letting other people make your decisions you are putting them in control of YOUR future. No matter what you decide the people in your life that love and care about you will support you. When there is a decision to be made you should not worry about how it will affect anyone’s life, the only thing that should matter is your future. An example of Mr.Graham’s quote is deciding if you should sneak out with your friends to misbehave or if you should stay home and study for your test tomorrow. The first step you should take is deciding on which is wrong and right for you. After that you must act on the decision you make. Even though it is your decision to make you should make sure that is is the right thing to do.

Occupational Medicine Physician
Duties and Responsibilities:

When an employer needs to find out how much the risk is for workplaces they call call a Occupational Medicine Physician. They decide how serious the injury is and examine where the injury took place. Education:
In order to become a Occupational Medicine Physician you must go to undergraduates school and get a Bachelor’s Degree. Then you must go to medical school and obtain a Doctoral Degree. After that you must complete a residency. The last step is to get licensed.
Demand for this profession;
Even though the Occupational Medicine Physician is needed there has been a shortage in this career. We need a Occupational Medicine Physician to ensure that where our parents or even where we work is a safe environment. If they are not around the people we care about are at risk of getting any disease that can or can’t be deadly. By having them around we can feel safe in our environments.

Reflection:

The Occupational Medicine PHysician is definitely not a career I would like to pursue. A reason why I would not like to become one is because feel as though this job would be putting my health at risk this profession is also something I am not very interested in. As it was said before why would I waste my time doing something that doesn’t appeal to me at all.
