Student Success Statement
“Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for ‘tis better to be alone than in bad company.”
George Washington
Reflection:

What Mr. Washington means by this quote is that it is better to be around people that do good so you can have good influences. On the other hand if you are around people who do bad it is better to be by yourself instead of ruining your reputation and being known as a trouble maker. An example about being around good people is if you choose to be friends with a group of people that do good deeds because they are the right thing to do. Another example would be if you become friends with a group of kids that do not tell lies and follow rules. Another example would be if you befriend a group of people who help with anything when they can. When you are around good people they give you good influences that make you want to do good aswell. When you do good people will give you trust and responsibilities. However examples of having a bad group of friends would be if you hang out with people who are drug addicts that pressure you into doing drugs. Also an example would be if you hang around people who party and sneak out of their houses. Lastly an example would be hanging out with people who are disrespectful to everyone except themselves. When you hang out with bad people they will rub off bad influences on you and cause you to Choose The Wrong. Also people will not want to be around you and will have no trust in you. Instead of having bad company you can do something productive by yourself instead of being in the way of trouble.
