Student Success Statement
“Of all the work that is done or can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the BODY, the MIND, and above all the CHARACTER, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation.”
Theodore Roosevelt
Reflection:
What Mr.Roosevelt means by this quote is that we can teach everyone any ordinary thing such as how to multiply or how to tie your shoes. The most important thing that should be taught is how to educate the BODY, MIND, and SPIRIT. An example of how to educate the body is different foods we need to eat to keep our body healthy, which will help our bodies fight of disease. Another thing that can be taught on how to educate the body is what the amount of exercise we need to accomplish that will keep our bodies fit. On the other hand an example on how to educate the mind is to teach us to view things in different point of views. Also an example on how to educate the mind is teaching us that we are our own people and do not need to be like everyone else. Lastly and most importantly we need to be taught on how to educate a good character. If you do not have a good character then the doors of opportunity will not open up to you because people will think that you are a bad person. A way to educate the character is showing us how to respect other people and to treat them as equals. Additionally another way to educate the body character is showing us not to judge people just by their looks without knowing their story.
