Plastic Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities:

There are two types of things plastic surgeons specialize in, cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery. When a reconstructive surgery is done the patients usually get treated to be able to walk or move a body part again. Then when a patients recieves a cosmetic surgery they are trying to enhance how they look to appear more beautiful than before.

Education:

The first step into becoming a plastic surgeon is graduating for college. After that you need to attend medical school and graduate. Then you need to attend a residency of 2 to 3 years. Once you finish that you need to get a plastic surgeon licence from the USMLE and get approved.

Demand for this profession:

The plastic surgeon demand is very high because many people think they are not beautiful enough and want to get surgery to fix that. In addition the plastic surgeon can help with patients that are paralyzed and want to be able to move again. Those reasons are why the demand for plastic surgeon is very high not only does it benefit them money wise but their patients are affected in a good way as well.

           

Reflection:

After researching the plastic surgeon career I think it is a job I would like to pursue. The reason I would want to pursue this job is because I think it would be interesting to see the different problem people have. Also I would be interested in learning how the body works and how it is affected.
